Cover Song Of The Day: The Big Deal – Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
Coming to your ears all the way from Serbia, The Melodic Metal Band The Big Deal offers up a fine version of the classic ABBA song.
Cover Song of the Day: Marcus King – There Stands The Glass
The last Marcus King L.P., with its countrypolitan flair, was a bit disappointing for Americana die-hards, but if this cover is any indication, Marcus might be back to form soon.
Cover Song of the Day: Al Green – Everybody Hurts
Much like he did for The Talking Heads “Take Me To The River” Al Green completely wraps his body, voice, and soul into the R.E.M. standard “Everybody Hurts.”
Released on Fat Possum Records, “Everybody Hurts” follows the Lou Reed cover of “Perfect Day” as the only music released by green since 2018.
Cover Song of the Day: Larkin Poe and the Sheepdogs – The Chain
Two Rock is the New Roll favorites on this Fleetwood Mac classic.
Cover Song of the Day: Lukas Nelson and Friends: Sunday Morning Coming Down
It is good to see that Willie Nelson’s legacy is in good hands. Here, Lukas Nelson plays it forward with this iconic Kris Kristofferson classic.
Cover Song of the Day: Real Estate – Daniel (Live On KEXP)
The band Real Estate delivers a sublime version of Elton John’s “Daniel” live on KEXP.
Cover Song of the Day: Cactus & Melanie – Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix Cover)
Recorded shortly before she passed away Melanie, the First Lady of Woodstock, recorded this sufficiently hazy version of the Jimi Hendrix classic.
Cover Song of the Day: Orville Peck (feat. Elton John) – Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)
Culled from Orville Peck’s Latest E.P., Stampede Vol. 1. This (sort of) cover version of “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” is one of the best on record. Granted, there haven’t been many. The rest of the record is no slouch either with collaborations from Midland, Allison Russell, and Nathaniel Ratiff.
Cover Song of the Day: DeWolff – Everyone’s A Winner
The mighty Dutch retro-rockers DeWolff deliver on a rambunctious version of the Hot Chocolate one-hit wonder classic.
