Mike and the Moonpies along with Micky and the Motorcars are two of the best Country acts working the Honky Tonk scene today. They both are great live acts with dirt country Roots Rock sensibilities along with solid songwriting.
John Anderson is still Swinging. Here, he teams up with our buddy Dan Auerbach at Easy Eye Sound on a tune that is part Country and part Indie Rock. Good Stuff. We can’t wait for the album.
His 2019 record, Call Me Lucky, is a strong contender for Honky Tonk album of the year. Here, the Texas Troubadour provides the back story to one of the songs, and sings it live on The Texas Music Scene.
Hailing from the small town of Myrtle, Texas Vincent Neil Emerson is as true as Country gets. His new Record, Fried Chicken and Evil Women, can stand right up there next to Charlie Crockett and Colter Wall. “Well I’m as drunk as an uncle in a Walmart parking lot, blaring Margaritaville and taking up teo spots.” He sings like George Strait with a Bob Wills soul.
On his new record, The Valley, Charlie Crockett channels his inner Texan with some Western Swing and Classic Country Americana.
Currently residing in Nashville, Leo Rondeau is the very definition of hard working troubadour. His songs come straight from the gut with stories about a life well lived with no quarter spared. His new album Right On Time is top 10 material for Country Album of the year.
The boys from Dripping Springs, Tx come out strong with their first single following their highly excellent On the Rocks L.P. circa 2017.
Little Big Town continues to impress and break themselves out of the cookie cutter modern Country mold. Their new song “The Daughters” details the challenges that young females face every day in living up to expectations that others put on them. This record is a dead-on cinch for Country Music song of the year. You can bet on it.
Fresh out of Dripping Springs Texas, not Nashville, the band Midland throws down Urban Cowboy vintage country with a new soul. Their first single, “Mr. Lonely” has been released ahead of their upcomming release.
