Jack White is back making music with his side piece band, The Raconteurs. “Sunday Driver is the A side of a newly released single with “Now That Your Gone” as the also very groovy B side.

Live Video of the Day: Rival Sons – Wild Horses (The Blues Kitchen Presents)
Rival Sons are in the studio right now. In advance of their release early next year we are treated to a fine live version of the Rolling Stones “Wild Horses”. These guys look like real Rock Stars.

Five Cool Ones: Five Cool Americana Roots Rock Records You May Have Missed
Kirby Brown – Uncommon Prayer
“Gimme a week and a ride to the downtown station with a dollar to my name, I don’t much care where it’s going, just anywhere that’s gone.” With your introduction to a new musician that you have never heard before jumping right out at you between your ears like it does on “Gimme a Week” from Kirby Brown’s highly excellent 2018 release Uncommon Prayer there is cause for celebration. Don’t sleep on his cover of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. It is worth the price of admission alone.
Ruby Boots – Don’t Talk About It
If you are looking for a place to find really cool new music you could not go wrong wandering over the Bloodshot Music site and searching through any of the number of artists in their stable. Ruby Boots and her latest, Don’t Talk About It, look forward to meeting you there.
Kevin Gordon – Tilt and Shine
The musicscapes created here all first rate and read like a Cormac McCarthy novel. Whether it’s “Drunken Man In Town,” “One Road Out (Angola Rodeo Blues),” or “Gatling Gun” Kevin Gordon has captured the short story in a three-minute song.
Larkin Poe – Venom & Faith
These young girls take Country Blues to the next level. The songs are all gritty, down in the gutter with Tom Waits. If you don’t believe it, just check out “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues”.
Sam Morrow – Concrete and Mud
Outlaw Country is alive and well and his name might be Sam Morrow.
Live Video of the Day: Hootie and the Blowfish – I Only Wanna Be With You (The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon)
After a highly successful crossover career Darius Rucker, aka Hootie, has reassembled his band The Blowfish and will be releasing an album in early 2019.
Yet another Nashville act that is tragically under the musical radar, Goodbye June features a trio of cousins that are quietly trying to carry the Rock ‘N’ Roll torch in the 21st century. Forgive them for their Budweiser commercial, everybody needs to make a buck, and listen to their Southern-fried blues and Gospel soul.
Video of the Day: The Record Company – Make It Happen
In 2018 The Record company released All Of This Life, their sophomore album that continued their streak of putting out consistently great Rock ‘N’ Roll in the mold of The Rolling Stones and Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
Video of the Day: Victor Wainwright and the Train – Thank You Lucille
Starting out his musical life as a Roots Rock ‘N’ Roll act, Rufus Wainwright has reinvented himself in fine fashion as a Blues-Rock band. Since he is fronting a piano-based band expect a lot of good times boogie-woogie served with a side order of New Orleans blues. The self-titled new record is tremendous and should be heard by more ears. “Thank You, Lucille” is a tribute to B.B. King and his signature guitar.
Video of the Day: Ash – Confessions In The Pool
Ash, with their latest record, Islands, is quietly proving that they are the masters of the Indie-Pop anthem. The epic sonic scope of this song and the entire record might out them in Foo Fighter territory when it comes to drawing fans to their shows in 2018.
Video of the Day: Andrew W.K. – Music Is Worth Living For
The calvary is not only coming, but it is also already here with the return of Andrew W.K. after a lengthy absence.
