Video of the Day: ZZ Ward – Break Her Heart

ZZ Ward is back touring and prepping for her first proper album release since 2017’s The Storm. And, that is a very good thing. Her new record, Stardust, will be a heart on her sleeve break-up record that will allow the listener to vicariously experience her feelings of betrayal, heartbreak, and devastation. We are looking forward to it.

Video of the Day: Chuck Prophet – Get Off The Stage

We are not sure how we missed Yep Rock Records, the label for Chuck Profit when we were calling out the best record companies, but we did, and we are here to make amends. In advance of a new release later this year San Francisco’s golden boy is out with a new single.

Video of the Day: Still Corners – Black Lagoon

Nothing if not eclectic, this band consisting of Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray call out their influences as Vangelis, Ennio Morricone, and The Shadows. Shifting their focus ever so slightly from the ’60s to the ’80s with their recent output, the new-found vibe for the band has an open road Western feel that is perfect for a sunset road trip.

Video of the Day: Robert Ellis – Topo Chico

New West Records is on our list of favorite music labels with virtually every artist in the stable right up our musical alley. In addition to Robert Ellis, the diverse artists they represent include Wild Moccasins, Andrew Combs, Seratones, and Sam Doores, all of which are very much worthy of your ear-time.

Video of the Day: The Dead Daisies – Mexico

The Dead Daisies are a Rock collective of musicians with a slightly varied line-up every couple of years with David Lowy acting as ring-leader as he brings together available musicians for a new tour and album. As the DNA of the band stays pretty much the same with each version of the band, straight-ahead ’70’s style Rock and Roll is the order of the day, they are always making a great music no matter who is in the band. This song goes back to 2015 with John Corabi on vocals. The band is in the process of putting together an album and tour in 2020 with Glen Hughes on bass and vocals. It should be stellar.

The video for “Mexico” that features strippers and clowns is worth the price of admission alone.
