Live Video of the Day: Hootie and the Blowfish – I Only Wanna Be With You (The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon)
After a highly successful crossover career Darius Rucker, aka Hootie, has reassembled his band The Blowfish and will be releasing an album in early 2019.
Yet another Nashville act that is tragically under the musical radar, Goodbye June features a trio of cousins that are quietly trying to carry the Rock ‘N’ Roll torch in the 21st century. Forgive them for their Budweiser commercial, everybody needs to make a buck, and listen to their Southern-fried blues and Gospel soul.
Video of the Day: The Record Company – Make It Happen
In 2018 The Record company released All Of This Life, their sophomore album that continued their streak of putting out consistently great Rock ‘N’ Roll in the mold of The Rolling Stones and Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
Video of the Day: Victor Wainwright and the Train – Thank You Lucille
Starting out his musical life as a Roots Rock ‘N’ Roll act, Rufus Wainwright has reinvented himself in fine fashion as a Blues-Rock band. Since he is fronting a piano-based band expect a lot of good times boogie-woogie served with a side order of New Orleans blues. The self-titled new record is tremendous and should be heard by more ears. “Thank You, Lucille” is a tribute to B.B. King and his signature guitar.
Video of the Day: Ash – Confessions In The Pool
Ash, with their latest record, Islands, is quietly proving that they are the masters of the Indie-Pop anthem. The epic sonic scope of this song and the entire record might out them in Foo Fighter territory when it comes to drawing fans to their shows in 2018.
Video of the Day: Andrew W.K. – Music Is Worth Living For
The calvary is not only coming, but it is also already here with the return of Andrew W.K. after a lengthy absence.
Live Video of the Day: Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real – After Midnight (Jam In The Van)
Willie’s son Lukas and his band lay down an Americana version of “After Midnight.”
Song of the Day: Phoebe Bridgers – Christmas
It’s Christmas and no one can fix it. A Christmas song even Grinchs’ can get behind. “Coming back from the country full of good food and lousy beer.” And yes, that is Jackson Browne singing in the background.
Video of the Day: Mandolin Orange – Golden Embers
The latest video from Bluegrass band Mandolin Orange from their soon to be released album, Tides of a Teardrop on Yep Roc records. The song and video chronicles the suffering and healing singer Andrew Marlin and his father endured following the death of Marlin’s mother.
