Live Video of the Day: The Tedeschi Trucks Band (feat. Taj Mahal) – Leavin’ Trunk

From their 2014 Live at the Beacon Theatre concert Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, along with Jerry Douglas and the rest of the band warm-up backstage with a vintage blues song. Taj Mahal in all his glory. All we want to know is where does he get his shirts.

Live Video of the Day: Trigger Hippy – Rise Up Singing (Live at WFUV)

The first incarnation of Steve Gorman’s post-Black Crowes band included Joan Osborne on vocals instead of Amber Woodhouse who is on their latest L.P., Full Circle & Then Some. Both albums are great and worth your ear-time.

Live Video of the Day: Ida Mae – My Girl Is a Heartbreak (Carter Vintage Guitars)

Ida Mae is a British Blues-Rock duo that consists of Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean. Think White Stripes without the bombast. Here, they perform one of the singles from their highly excellent 2019 release, Chasing Lights in the intimate setting of the Carter Vintage Guitar store in Nashville.

Cover Song of the Day: Marcella and Her Lovers – I’d Rather Go Blind (feat. Spooner Oldham)

One of the many great bands from the Memphis music scene. I Listen to Memphis is a great Youtube site to jump on the Memphis music bandwagon. Take a listen and you too will be walking in Memphis.

Live Video of the Day: Blackberry Smoke – Flesh and Bone (Homecoming: Live In Atlanta)

From their epic newly released album recorded live at The Tabernacle in Atlanta in 2018. All of their hits are on this set plus a couple of choice covers in “Space Captain” and (Not Fade Away.)

Live Video of the Day: Dead Writers – She’s All Animals

Based in London, this band was formed by Dynamic front man Paul Shine in 2017. With a sound that hovers somewhere between The Cult and INXS, the band is in slow release mode with this, their third release in the last several months. Look for a proper record in 2020.
