Video of the Day: Foxy Shazam – Holy Touch

The band Foxy Shazam is actually from Cincinnati, Ohio but you would never know it. Based on the amount of coolness in this band they should be from Los Angeles, or even San Francisco. Sort of a wicked hybrid of Queen and The Darkness meets Slade. “Holy Touch” is from The Church of Rock and Roll, a few albums back, but no less groovy.

Video of the Day: Israel Nash – Lucky Ones

Relocating from New York to Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin, seems to have done wonders for the wandering spirit of Israel Nash. His latest record, Lifted, is a marvel. Part Beach Boys part Laurel Canyon Psychedelic Rock, this record is a throwback to the future in all the best possible ways.

Video of the Day: The Essex Green – Don’t Leave It In Our Hands

This Brooklyn by way of Burlington, Vermont is a Classic Rock sounding band with a distinct 60’s and 70’s vibe to them. Their newest record, Hardly Electronic, is one of he best Power Pop records of the year.

Video of the Day: Guns ‘N’ Roses and Stevie Wonder -Living For The Paradise City

Not usually a fan of the mash-up, there may be a need for rethinking this genre bias. The video quality is first rate, the knob twirling is superb, and the overall melding of two artists that are uniquely admired in their own different ways is well…….superb.

Video of the Day: Eric Church – Desperate Man

Eric Church is walking that delicate line between Rock and Roll and Country Music quite nicely. If you haven’t checked out his 61 Days in Church series of live performances do yourself a favor and Rock On. Among other tasty covers he handles “The Ballad of Curtis Loew,” “The Weight,” “Screw You, We’re From Texas,” and “Lodi” quite nicely. On “Desperate Man,” his latest single and video, the surprise guest appearance of the great Ray Wylie Hubbard is worth the price of admission alone.
